Liberal Anglicans oppose Archbishop Vercoe

Eager to prove that a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand, Assistant Anglican Bishop of Auckland, Dean Richard Randerson, disagrees with his Archbishop Vercoe on the morality of Gay sex.

Archbishop at odds with church on homosexuals

Dean Richard Randerson supports the ordination of gay Bishop Gene Robinson, a man who solemnly promised before God and Church that he would love his wife until death did them part but then divorced her and now lives with his gay lover. By endorsing Robinson, Randerson is endorsing adultery.

Dean Randerson's question about the human knowledge of bible authors ignores the long Christian tradition that the bible is not simply the work of human authors, but is inspired by the Holy Spirit who protected the human writers from all error.

To say homosexual sex is contrary to nature means that it is contrary to the natural law written into human hearts by a loving God who wishes to teach us what is wrong and harmful to us. It doesn't mean that same sex attraction doesn't occur in nature or that inclinations to sin are not naturally present in all of us.

Dean Randerson's case for the morality of gay sex is built on rejecting fundamental Christian principles.
